In 2018, AIIF3 acquired an equity exposure to three of BBOXX’s portfolio companies; namely BBOXX Kenya, Rwanda and the DRC, via a holding company called Beyond Energy Investments.

In 2023, AIIF3 subscribed for shares in BBOXX Ltd in exchange for shares in Beyond Energy Investments. The transaction increases the countries of exposure for AIIF3 to include Togo, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal and Mali.
