African Ports & Corridors Holdings (“APCH”) is an investment platform which seeks to invest in opportunities linked to the growth and expansion of Africa’s Ports and Corridors. APCH completed the acquisition of DSM Corridor Group (Tanzania) during 2017 and established the Central African Corridor Company (Zambia) during 2018.
DSM Corridor Group (“DCG”) has established itself as one of the largest independent cargo handlers at the port of Dar es Salaam and a major player in the handling of cross border flows to and from neighbouring countries such as Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
DCG has invested in dedicated storage and handling facilities including two terminals adjacent to the port of Dar es Salaam and an inland logistics terminal located in Kisarawe, Tanzania.
Central African Corridor Company (“CACC”) was established to develop a new 4.4-hectare inland logistics terminal at Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia in partnership with the Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (“Tazara”). The terminal serves as an extended gateway to Dar es Salaam port and together with DCG’s terminals in Tanzania, facilitates consolidation of backhaul rail cargo volumes to allow for improved efficiency, cost and turnaround time in using the 1,860 km Tazara rail line.
