AIIM’s investment in Starsight’s distributed generation solutions and the need for increase C&I solar distribution in across Africa

AIIM is a long-term investor in Africa’s energy sector with experience in executing large-scale Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects, prompting the investment into Starsight, West Africa’s leading commercial and industrial solar power supplier. AIIM is working with Starsight to expand and diversify through the development of plants that supply C&I clients.

C&I solar is essential to improving the energy fortunes in Africa however, Africa’s solar power generation potential has not been utilised. AIIM plan to use our IPP development expertise and customer facing experience through Starsight to help facilitate the next generation of C&I solar platforms across Africa.

In this interview, AIIM Investment Director Damilola Agbaje outlines the need for collaboration across the public and private sector through PPPs to realise this potential and help fund the US$55 billion investment gap in African energy infrastructure.
