The Greefspan Project Company was awarded the contract to build, own and operate a solar PV farm in the Greefspan area, south of Douglas in the Northern Cape. The developer is AE-AMD Independent Power Producer 1 (Pty) Ltd. The solar farm has an installed capacity of 10MW features around 46,000 Tenesol TE 240 PV solar panels on single-axis trackers. Under a 20-year power purchase agreement, the project reached financial close in 2012 and became operational in April 2014.
